Qualifications

There are many great contractors building docks in Central Florida and Aja Group Inc. is certainly one of them. Make certain to know who you are dealing with by insisting on proof of Contractor License and insurance, never agreeing to pull your own permit unless you fully understand the risks and responsibilities you are taking by doing so. At a minimum, demand:

A native of Winter Park and dedicated father, I grew up spending time on the Winter Park Chain and surrounding lakes as well as surfing around the globe. These activities cultivated a deep appreciation and respect for enjoying and maintaining our natural aquatic resources. In 1990, I graduated from UCF (Summa Cum Laude… big whoop!) with a BSBA in Marketing leading to mostly “desk jobs” which were fine, but in some ways, lacking.

In 1995, I moved to Guadeloupe, French West Indies using my construction experience to make a living as I learned the language and fell in love with island life. Building beautiful wooden structures expected to weather category 4 and 5 hurricanes on a regular basis translated perfectly to dock construction, giving me direction for my professional future. After a couple years in the field, it was clear I enjoy being outside and working with my hands, so upon returning to the states, I acquired my Contracting License and I have been creating ever since.
